Changsha Transportation

Changsha's transportation network is well-developed, with Changsha Huanghua International Airport and Changsha South Railway Station being the primary hubs for intercity travel. Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) is a significant aviation hub in the region, serving as a gateway to the capital of Hunan province and nearby cities. Located approximately 25 kilometers from downtown Changsha, the airport has two terminals and offers a range of domestic and international flights. To reach the city center from the airport, passengers can use the Maglev express line, which connects the airport to Changsha South Railway Station, or take a taxi or airport shuttle bus. Changsha South Railway Station is a modern high-speed rail station that serves as a key node on the Beijing-Guangzhou and Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railways. It is located in the Yuhua District, about 15.5 kilometers southeast of downtown Changsha. The station is accessible via Metro Line 2, which provide a direct connection to the city center and other parts of Changsha. Additionally, the Maglev express line offers a quick transfer to Changsha Huanghua International Airport.

During spring, from mid-March to May, the city offers comfortable temperatures, making it a good time to explore and enjoy the local food. Autumn, particularly in September and October, is also recommended due to pleasant temperatures and the stunning scenery of red maples in Yuelu Mountain and Orange Island. Additionally, April is highlighted for its blooming flowers in the city's parks.

Changsha Useful Guide

Changsha, the bustling capital of Hunan Province, is predominantly a Mandarin-speaking city with a significant presence of the New Xiang language, a dialect influenced by Mandarin. Any recommended attractions about nature scenery in Changsha?

I recommended Yanghu Wetland Park, Meixi Lake Park, Xiang River, Shi Niuzhai Scenic Area, Tongguan Kiln.

How to get to Ili from Changsha?

Yes, there are no direct flights. You need to take a train from Changsha to Urumqi, then take a bus from Urumqi to Yili, or transfer from Wuzhou to Yili.

How to get to Huaniao Island from Changsha?

Note that Huaying Island is near Shanghai and needs to go to Shanghai from Changsha first, preferably to Pudong Airport (slightly closer than Hongqiao Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station). Whether it is to Pudong Airport or Hongqiao Airport or Hongqiao Railway Station, take Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road (from Pudong Airport, you can take the maglev train to Longyang Road, which is more expensive than the subway but faster than the subway), and then from the dragon Yang Road takes Metro Line 16 to the terminal station Drip Lake, and then takes the special bus from the drip lake to the terminal of the bus, Shenjiawan, from the Shenjiawan Wharf to the raft, and then from the raft to the Flower and Bird Island. (Although the Sanjiang Wharf in Zhoushan also has a boat to go to the raft, it is about twice as long as drifting from the Shenjiawan Wharf.)

How to get to Nanchang from Changsha?

Only D207 (Changsha-Nanchang) has a train, Changsha 11:33, Nanchang 14:46, the whole journey 3 hours 13 minutes / 419 km / first class 156 / second seat 130.
